CURRICULUM

MARINELLA DELL’EVA

Marinella Dell’Eva was born in Cles, a small town in Northern Italy near Trento. She started to learn piano at C. Eccher music school at the age of 6.

When she was 12, she began her musical study at the Conservatory F. A. Bonporti of Trento with Prof. Maddalena Giese and then with Prof. Roberto Melini.

In Trento, she had the opportunity to meet two great musicians, Prof. Anna Brandolini and Prof. Andrea Dindo, and from that moment a huge passion for Opera arose in herself.

For such a reason, Marinella began a new study plan in order to become a Collaborative Pianist. In October 2016 she graduated in Collaborative Piano with the highest grade.

Two years earlier Marinella also graduated in Psychiatric Rehabilitation at the University of Verona.

Marinella took part in different Masterclasses in Italy, especially in Trento, Rabbi Valley, and Florence, as well as, abroad e.g. in Zell an der Pram (Austria) and in Germany.

She had the privilege to study with well-established pianists such as M° Riccardo Risaliti, M° Pietro de Maria, M° Jorg Demus, M° Roberto Prosseda, M° Renato Premezzi, and M° Yoko Kono. One of the most significant experiences for Marinella happened in 2015 when she had the privilege to meet M° Riccardo Muti during his Opera Academy in Ravenna.

Regarding public performance, Marinella joined different concerts in Italy, Austria, and Germany, collaborating with many musicians, in particular with opera singers, clarinettists, flautists, violinists, and cellists.

She played twice at “Festival in memory of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli”, an important summer festival in Rabbi (Trentino), a beautiful valley located in the Alps. The iconic and brilliant pianist M° Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli was in love with this delightful valley, the perfect location for his spirit elevation.

Grigory Sokolov, Vitaly Pisarenko, Nikita Abrosimov, François-Joël Thiollier, Paul Badura-Skoda, and others worldwide famous pianists are invited every year at this festival in Rabbi, where Marinella makes available her own piano for the rehearsal of such brilliant musicians.

In 2015 Marinella had the opportunity to be part of an interesting project titled “La musica è donna - Music is woman”, with the aim to highlight the role of women composers and musicians in Trento.

She played the World Premiere of “Sospeso Limite”, a piano-composition of Valentina Massetti and she joined the 9. Edition of the MAE Film Festival in Trento playing the live soundtrack composed by Jacqueline Ocampo Cruz of Otto Minuti, a short film directed by Chiara Orsi. In this special occasion, Marinella and the whole female team won the first prize.

In the same year the pianist played also with the Italian cellist Benedetta Baravelli in the extraordinary “Michelangeli Concert Hall” in Bolzano, on the occasion of the Semifinal of the Soropimist Competition.

She also played in the wonderful Kursaal in Merano for the Prize “Jugend Musiziert 2017” with winner German soprano Isabel Marie Maidowski.

In 2019 she was invited to play for a special Christmas Concert in the antique Concert Hall of the Jagdhaus of Kössern, Sachsen, Germany.

Marinella took many concerts at the Berlin University of Arts, for example, she played in February 2020 with her Trio for a special concert organized by the violinist Prof. Axel Gerhardt, one of the former members of the Berliner Philarmoniker.

Marinella participated in some different opera projects; the first of them was the Academy “La bottega della lirica” organized by Prof. Anna Brandolini in Soiano del Lago (Brescia), where Marinella played as collaborative Pianist with young talented opera singers.

In 2015 she started her Erasmus study (Internship Program) in Berlin, at the University of Arts (UdK Berlin), under the tutoring of Prof. Errico Fresis.

She deepened her opera studies with many Professors, in particular with the pianists Sebastian Stoermer and Eric Schneider and with some great singers such as Prof. Julie Kaufmann and Gidon Sacks.

She took part in many different University projects: she was a collaborative pianist for La clemenza di Tito, Mozart and she sang at Philarmonie of Berlin the Mahler 2. Simphonie as University choir member.

In summer 2016, she was piano assistant at “Berlin Opera Academy” playing Carmen of Bizet, working constantly with great musicians such as the pianist and conductor William Kelley.

Marinella worked also as a collaborative pianist in Neuköllner Oper in Berlin where she met the director Marielle Sterra. After this collaboration, she took the artistic direction of Catch3000, a special revisitation of the Monteverdi’s Opera Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda. Given the enormous success of the project, an exciting tour began.

In 2017 Marinella started a great collaboration with the Leipzig Opera (Germany).

She started working with Prof. Ugo D’Orazio and with many other important singers, intensifying the knowledge of the opera repertoire. She discovered how complicated and fascinating the mechanism of an opera house is.

She played some rehearsal for the new production of Rusalka, Dvorak and in 2019 she worked as coach of Italian diction for Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore with the great Rolando Villazon as director. Another interesting experience was Tristan and Isolde, Wagner.

In Leipzig Opera Marinella was Solo-Repetitor for Carmen, Bizet in November 2019 and in March 2020 was sound and light Master for Rigoletto, Verdi and Il barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini.

Marinella is currently living in Berlin and working for different theatre and music projects.

She has founded a Trio (piano, violin, and cello) and she is also teaching piano, as well as giving private lessons for singers.

She has created a music project for babies and kids, in order to develop musical and rhythm knowledge. In particular, she has developed some specific lessons for children to enhance opera skills.
